For the last week in my HR class we have had a guest speaker coma and give a workshop on STDs and Abstinence. I shold have realized this before but, as this is the bible Belt, apparently abstinence until marriage IS THE ONLY PATH! Now the speaker did all these weird activities to get us involved. She took a rose and said "this is you heart when you have abstained from sex. this is what you are giving to your partner on your wedding day. However, if you have sex before marriiage (rips off osme petals), if you see dirty movies (rip more petals) or go to bad websites (rip remainder of petals) this is what you are giving your partner at your wedding (completely bare rose). You are not giving them your full heart- you are bringing dangerous issues to your marriage and you are not entering as a pure, complete person".

well goddammit, I guess if I ever get married my partner's gonna get a bouquet of stems. I do not beleive in thi strash that says "if you have sex before marriage then you wil never be a fiull person". Bullshit- i think that if you have sex when not emotionally or financially (in case of pregnancy) yeah, it's gonna be tough but you can bounce back! If you are mature and know what you are doing, then good for you! have sex! I can guarantee that not everyone is going to feel "feelings of regret, guilt, anxiety, low self-esteem, and may be suicidal" IF YOU HAVE SEX!!!!!

Another thing we did was 5 guys and 5 girls went up to the front of the class and ate a cracker or cookie. Then we put wate ri nour mouths, swished it 'round, and put it back in our cup. Then we mixed our cup's contents with one other person's and then we put all the stuf in one jar. The speaker said (holding up the disgusting jar) "This is what you are serving to your partner on your wedding and honeymoon on your wedding day if you have premarital sex"> then she held up a jar labeled "pure" and said "this is what virgins serve on their wedding day".

fuck this. I know not all people in my class agree with what she is saying, but I have the feeling that I feel the most strongly against this.

We had a follow-up to the workshop today and we were asked the question "Why do you think that sexual freedom only comes with marriage and mature love?"

I do not believe in this statement. I refuse to belive in it. If asked, I will saay that sexual freedom is not defined my marriage, it is defined by maturity. And so long as I llive in a country, in a culture, that restricts marriage to only between opposite genders, then I refuse to believe that sexual freedom can only be attained through marriage. There are same-sex couples ou there who are very much in love but, because this country can't get its head out of the Bible and their bigoted asses, these couples can't acheive this vision of "sexual freedom". On a brighter note, I finished my entry for the "I elect to be drug free" essay contest at school, my English teaher wants me to co-teach the class with her, Miyuki and I are speaking Japanese, and I had the car again today so I could listen to Linkin Park really loud driving home.

We started Tae kwon Do last night- am so very very sore- they don't stretch before class, you have to do it before you come. I can't feel my legs except for when I move and then I feel everything and my ribs are sore. We were told that the kicking techniques between karate and tae kwon do are VERY different so we have to relearn them. We haven't been assigned a belt rank yet because they want to see how good we are and how fast we learn before they give us a belt.

My screenplay for OFS is coming along nicely but will not have it finished by the deadline tomorrow so I'll just be pitching the first 12 pages and explain the rest. We'll see if it gets chosen.

We toured the cemetary in preparation for the tour next week- I still haven't memeorized my lines so I'll do it this weekend. Its a prety nice cemetary- the Peel Monument is huge- but it wasn't anything too special.

Which reminds me, as commencement was a while ago, does that mean that yearbooks were handed out? Must check....
