This has been a day full of wonderful moments. In English we read Truman Capote's "A Christmas Story" and then began watching the movie and it was a nice teaser to the impending holiday. Drama was were we critiqued Andy's running of the auditions last night, and in HR me and Miyuki wrote random nosensical Japanese back and forth. But Spanish was boring and I aced the test on los verbos reflexivos.
So, auditions for "Night of January 16th" were last night- they were really fun as Andy is a director just graduating from college and this was his first show with teens. We were there about two hours and we had some good ol' fun. The cast list wasn't supposed to go up until tomorrow but Stiles had received it nad put it up after 7th hour. I left Spanish early to run down and see it.
I almost had a herat attack. My name was at the top of the list, right next to the name "DA Flint."
Yes indeedy... I got the lead. The fuckin' lead. District Attorney Flint, the prosecutor with the brilliant opening statement, the dangerous, quick and intelligent one.
I got it.
I couldn't stop shaking for half an hour. I got home and highlighted al of my lines ( I may as well just have pianted my script pink from all the marks) and he nit really hit me just how big of a role this was. I am kinda nervous, don't wanna let the cast down, and I hae to learn all my lines by the time I come back form XMAs break.
Talk about pressure. Chris is in it too, as "Guts" Regan, a mobster in love iwth the defendant and possible accomplice. remember, the audience made-up jury decides the ending... Chris claims he keep sgetting typecast- he has played Hades, Count Olaf, DAn Fogarty, and now Guts Regan... Weird...
But I'm happy.....oh so very happy.... So it was a pretty good day.
