Have returned from the T Dot to the scintillating flatland of arkansas... Oh joy, oh bliss... However, after a two hour layover in Chicago I am rather glad to be back home where I can sleep in my own bed and can sprawl as much as I want.
Toronto was fun- got to see Kt and Jenn, met Tiff, and got some new manga. X was good and teary, TB #6 was angsty and squee-y, and Only the Ring Finger Knows was practically perfect- very pretty. The only disappointing thing was that I found absolutely zippo at Kensington Market. Highly disappointing. But i will continue to scour the thrift stores down here in an attempt to find some costume pieces.
Watched a lot of SG:A but my copy of the Storm and the Eye is still in TO. Which makes me sad because those two episodes were full ShepFord fun. And squee-ness.
At O'Hare I went to the bookstore and came across an interesting series by Laura Jon Rowland which features a Japanese detective set in feudal Japan c. 1679. I bought the 2nd book in the series "Bundori" but it should be easy to catch up on. The main chara is the shogun's Most Honourable Investigator of Events, Situations, and People- Sano Ichirou. Sounds pretty interesting. I have yet to start it though, as I was finishing my current JD Robb book- her series about Eve Dallas is, by the far, the best detective/crime series I have ever read. I really want to read the beginning of the series cuz I want to see how Eve and Roarke met. When I read the 4th book, Rapture in Death, they were on their honeymoon, so I gotta read the first 3, Then I want to read after Seduction in Death so I can see how Peabody and McNab go about things.
I love my books.
I;m such a geek.
