[edit, 1:03 am]

I almost died today. So there I was, in Burwash, when I was innocently getting cheese to put on my salad. Then, as usual, I went to put croutons on it. In my hunger, I popped a crouton in my mouth to placate myself until I sat down. Then I began to choke. And cough. And when I breathed I whistled. Kt, who was on the phone with Tiff, hung up and began to hit my back. I tried to drink, which got rid of half the crouton but the other half remained. I don't enjoy not being able to breathe. Especially not in the middle of Burwash with friends and lunch ladies asking if I'm okay.

I will no longer have croutons on my salad. As Dmitri put it, I had a bad experience.

My room is slightly like a sauna as it has to be warm in here to keep Joyce's instruments in good condition- that's what I get for having a roommate in the Faculty of Music. But, I love her anyways.

Kt- I worship you for the gifts you have bestowed upon me this afternoon and I revel in the glory that is Michael Shanks. Proud Gater, don't be a hater!

I think I have gotten to the point where I have been studying kanji so often that I see it everywhere I go. My lamp is beginning to look like the kanji for "sha" in Jitensha and Jidousha. Lord help me.

One of the other floors is having a get together to celebrate American thanksgiving. I almost feel the need to attend in order to feel kinship with my adopted country. I didn't celebrate Canadian thanksgiving either, mom having flown in from Arkansas for the weekend. I think we had steak one night. No, wait, I remember- we went to Ron and Sandy's. Hmmm... I want pumpkin pie. I also learned today, miracle of miracles, that in Chinese the kanji for turkey are read as "seven faced chicken". I don't pretend to understand...
