Happy 500th Post to Me!! Revel in how I have no life!
I feel the need to share a few short tales about the party we hosted here last night for the people in Dad's office. Why? Because I was drunk and had a grand ol' time.
So Mom aka Slave Driver had Chris and I (mostly me) in the kitchen for days leading up to the event cooking. Lots of appetizers, salads, cheesecakes, etc. Good stuff all around. And Sangria. A very nice white sangria in green pitchers I got at Wal-Mart. The frequency with which we made visits to Wal-Mart for supplies does not need to be mentioned less people think we live there. Which we don't.
Lots of nice people came over for the evening with me being both wait staff and DJ (thanks to my all-mighty iPod generated playlist and my sound system) and a vague kind of entertainment. Early on nobody was drinking the sangria- beer and water the drinks of choic- so I am pretty sure I had one pitcher to myself. I lost track. Then I found out that our guests had been feeding the dog stuff from their plates, like carrots and shrimp. Thus, I was prompted to make a speech about how I know it is hard to resist the eyes, but if the dog gets diarreah, everyone was coming back to clean up. Yep, had too much to drink.
Talked with a lot of Dad's friends, one of them in Spanish for what I am told was over half an hour. It amzes me how much I forgot in the month that I have been out of school but I am told I didn't perform too badly. Of course, Dad is their boss so they could have just been being nice.
Good times, good Sangria.
When I am back in Toronto for a few days in July, I declare that people who live in the area that we shall go and get good and drunk. Possibly while singing.
That is all.
PS- AFI's new CD, Decemberunderground- is out in 3 days. SQUEEEEEE!!!
