Back we are from our rented chalet a few hours away in Missouri. It was a very enjoyable three days except for one thing. The cabin was veyr nice except for the copious amounts of taxidermy used as decoration throughout the 5 room cabin. And I don't mean a few tasteful (and I mean tasteful in the lowest sense of the word) ducks or fish, but a fox sitting in the rafters, a few deer heads, mom's room had a ferret and a possum, and my bathroom had a few skins on the ceiling. I swear I didn't have nightmares. Really. Add to this the little card on our fireplace thanking both museums and private collectors for their contributions of death. Well, they didn't say the death part, I added that it. Not that we actually needed the fireplace as it was warm enough in the afternoons to go in shorts or t-shirts. We took in a few shows on the strip- Legends (celebrity/singer impersonators) with Roy Orbison, Judy Garland, the Blues Brothers, Nat King Cole, Ann Margaret, and Elvis. That night we saw Jim Stafford who was very good and very funny. I had been hoping to go horseback riding but they were booked up solid for the next week.
Now I am trying to get my New Year's party organized. We'll see how that goes.
