Today I regressed into childhood and spent the morning and afternoon at the Zoo. Yes, the zoo. And I got to see Stewie again! My beloved high school friend, finished her year at Univeristy, drove up to join me, Katie, and Tiff for a day of animals. And hippos. Cannot forget the hippos.

Transit = massive sigh, but to get all the way out there for only $2.75, one must appreciate it.

HIPPOS!

Now what you can't see in this one is that Stewie and I are actually sitting on a Golden Statue of a Hippo! And by golden, I mean not. But still. Coolness all around. HIPPOS! The Zoo also had a pygmy hippo but it was mean and stayed under the bridge so we could only see his (hers? it's?) backside.
And of course, no trip to the Zoo could be complete without posing with a monkey. For fear of fleeing species we opted instead for this gentler breed of Nonmovius Statui de Orangutangus. Very nice creature, hardly moved at all.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have decided upon a name for my new sorority. Now, I know y'all are thinking. Nikki is so devilishly good looking my loins hurt. I know dear, but my point is that the family, genus, species of a Llama is lama glama glama. Think about it folks- this sorority will be in a Van Wilder movie someday!
HIPPOS!
Now I was cruel and, upon seeing this fishtank (named "Darwin's Dreampond" b/c of all the species present in this one tank representing Lake Malawi in Africa), decided I wanted the girls to pretend that they were swimming. Little Backstory: upon arriving at the zoo we noticed a convoy of yellow school buses, meaning that little people were around. Katie was spooked. So when we were about to take the picture, a group of them run up and begin yappering, their chaperones asking "Now, grade 4s, what is the difference between these fish and the ones we saw over there?" and then proceeding to answer their own questions. But we got the photo taken. Admire the extension of those arms! See the feeling!

Now I really have to study. Exam Monday, exam tuesday, and mom will be here so I will undoubtedly be distracted!
