Inane yard chores to be done in 30 degree (that is Celcius for all you Imperial types...) weather make me upset. Especially when said chore is taking a pair of clippers to your mother's seemingly endless gardens and clipping off the dead flowers. This is a task which none but the bravest do attempt and while I am in no way a brave person (I screamed when a beetle walked over my toe), it was either deadhead the plants of risk the wrath of a tired parental unit. It gave me great satisfaction to jump in the pool after I finished. I also admit to listening to my iPod while clipping and at some points began maiming these poor flowers to the tune of whatever song I was listening too. I was very dramatic with my getsures that it is a wonder I did not kill myself or Shiraz with my wild gesticulation.

But I was lucky. The past few days it has been 35+ degrees so at least I spent 2 hours hunched over in decidedly cooler weather.

Chris and Dad watching the World Cup. I myself don't have much of an interest in soccer but I was on the pool deck while the Brazil and Croatia match was on. My neighbours across the street are Brazilian and invited all their friends over today, it seems. So there I was on the pool deck when I was startled by llud cheers and claps and whistles. I walk in the house and asked if Brazil scored. They did. Kaka scored. I want to name my child that.

Not it is time for the hottub.

And I start my tennis lessons tomorrow and dance and pilates on thursday. Oh joy.

i hate to tell you this... but "kaka" is polish slang for poo.

yeah.

and i've been talking to my people about coming down to visit you, but it just doesn't look possible. jenn's going away to bc and between her, tif, me, and my schedules it doesn't look like we'll be able to get away for more than 3 days, and it would take us 2 days just to get there. there's not much chance i'd be able to get out of work for a week.

stupid everything. i'm really pissed... can you call me like thursday night or something? so that i can talk to you in person?

cheers.
