Back in the states is Nikki, sad that there is no snow yet complaining there is ice. I mean, if you are going to live in a somewhat more balmy area than Toronto, it should be one extreme or the other:hot or cold. None of this in between icy, t-shirt during the day, jacket at night weather.
Oh, and the new puppy is adorable. Like, she has sweaters with hoods on them and barks really loud when chasing balls and likes to cuddle. Of course, she weighs less than 5 lbs so one must be careful, but Bailey is exhibiting a serious cuteness factor. And Shiraz is lovely as always, though I sense she must compete for attention- looks like she is kind of jealous of all the attention the new puppy is getting. =(
Got back into AR on Wednesday after my last exam tuesday afternoon. Korean Hist with Schmid was by far my favorite class EVER at U of T, so much so that I plan to scour next year's calendar for another class with him. But, since the exam was my last one (after the hell that was 3 finals in 3 days during the last week of classes) I was definitely not in the mood to study! I had been working at Burwash almost every day (and 7 straight days of BW is enough to drive anyone crazy) and was extremely out of the studying frame of mind. Add to that my sudden 24 hour stomach flu 2 days before my exam and it was not a happy time! But study I did, and finished the 3 hour exam in a little under half the time.
Even happier, before I wrote my korean exam I stopped by Komuro's office to pick up my Japanese exam. And, surprise of all glorious surprises, I scored the highest on my oral test I have ever scored in my years of Japanese exams: damn near perfect. Of course, I messed up a little on the written so came away with a B on the exam, but this one success reassures me that I am doing the right thing at school and that I can be good at it. And since I dropped my Spanish minor as I already qualify for Spanish language certification after this year I will only have 2 credits left!!!! Joy of all joys!
Oh U of T, for once you are doing well =D
When I got home last week I wasn't planning on doing anything except seeig Sweeney Todd, working, and maybe going to the gym but I actually went to a bridal shower on Thurs. Yes, a bridal shower. This girl I went to high school with here is getting married on New Year's Eve. I can't even fathom getting married right now, much less even having a relationship. If I had a choice between a man, or more sleep, I would go for the sleep, hands down. Granted, my friend has a baby with the man she is marrying,. but....woah. So I went to the shower, we painted pottery which will be given to her as a set (AKA most fun I have had in a while, painting pottery. I made an octopus bowl !) and awkward/no conversation abounded. I know I have nothing in common with these people anymore, nor does it bother me, but it would be nice to come down here and do something other than hang with the family. Too bad I am not yet 21 or I could go to all the bars on New Year's Eve instead of stay at home =P. Better yet, if I stayed in Toronto where I could see more people, or take Mike's invitation to go to Boston. Maybe some other year, I always seem to say. Things would be so much easier with a private jet.
Thus, my plans for the break include studying, getting the society's books in order for our semi-annual audit, writing scripts for my Japanese movie, and sleeping.
Joyous.
